Seventh Dimension Quasette 1 (tape, Zimbo, 1987)

Ok, this one I kept to be the closing thing for this blog and make it end with a big bang: a seven part compilation. Seven hours of music. That would have been a big bang indeed. But no, its not going to happen. Not like that. I realize that an upload of seven hours is a bit much, so for the next seven days, you get one a day. Is the blog over then? Wait and see. The first one has Number One, Niek v.d. Burgt, Hags, Henri van Zanten, D.O.C., Random Confusion and Goatcoat: experiment and synthesizer stuff. Came in kiddy-suitcase, with various inserts. Some scans in the final post.

And the final tape by Mr. Dam, his earliest work I believe.

Silent Searching - Fish (tape, Lor Teeps 7, 19??)

I have no idea who Silent Searching or the man behind it, Boris, is, but on this tape for Lor Teeps he does quite nice improvisations on an organ and a piano. The organ was recorded in a church in Amersfoort, The Netherlands.

The fourth tape, going back in time it seems. But still with great music.

Four 7 inch Records

These four 7 inch records are totally unrelated and I transferred them already a while ago, but never figured out how to post them. Now that my own collection is coming to end, its sometimes time for loose ends. First there is a split 7" cut into a sawblade by Doc Wor Mirran on one side and Controlled Bleeding on the other. The label had a machine to cut these saw blade edges.
The Neil Campbell 7" is apparentely on no label, as I can't find one, and its not mentioned on discogs. The only 7" by Institut Fur Feinmotorik is perhaps the most recent entry on this blog, its from 2004 and was released in an edition 300.
Mark Morley and Bruce Russell had a split 7" on Russell's Corpus hermeticum label (008) in 1995. This is a so-called lathe cut record: made out of plastic by one Peter King in New Zealand in crazy small editions.

Names Don't Matter (tape, My Smile Is A Mask Tapes, 1985)

Its been a while since we had some punk music here, but here is some. Bands like Murder Inc, S.C.A. and Fishtown HC plus the rhythm machine and guitars of Jacinthebox (later a member of THU20, and founder of Midas Music). A short tape, only fifteen minutes, but with great raw energy.

Little Seed - Golgotha (tape, Lor Teeps 6, 19??)

All inspired by death as seen in various biblical stories. Including scans of the booklet. Little Seed was Jan-Kees Helms, who also ran the Lor Teeps label and still plays music today.

Autodidact - You Never Bring Me Roses (tape, Monotremata, 1996)

A little over a week ago I started posting a bunch of tapes that were donated to me, in their physical form, and I posted them all, concluding with this third tape by Autodidact. More fine ambient industrial music. Thanks donater!

There Is No Music (tape, C.F.C. 001, 1998)

More noise here, I guess mainly by US noise acts: Charles Bascomb, Chlamydia Test Clioud, John Wiese, Brxtnle, Dog Finite, Geaphayce, Kummerlige Furhold, The B.C.A., Adam Weishaupt, T.T.D.O.M.A., Antibody, Alogon and Tone Speak. I must admit only the John Wiese means something to me.

Agave - Post Organic (tape, PO 1, 1998)

The second and final post by me of music by Agave. A damn noise beast, I'd say, so be careful with your volume knob. Pearce uses here guitar and additional vocals, plus drums by Andy Moon. No copyright. 'Dub, sample or manipulate at will' it says on the cover.

Handmaiden Synergetics (tape, ??)

Link

This tape, also given to me by someone who moved house, is perhaps more like a demo of sorts. It says Handmaiden Synergetics on the spine and four titles on the labels it self, so that's it. Otherwise I have no idea.

Agave - Orgone Mangler (tape, Post Organic Productions, 1998)

Recorded by one Micheal Todd Pierce and released in an edition of 6. Handmade cover. Not as loud as the one I will put on later this week, but quite noise based already.

Autodidact - The Saint Of Perpetual Motion (tape, Monotremata Records, 1997)

Another gift was this, the first of three tapes by Autodidact. One RKF plays guitars, efx, odd noises, drum machine abuse 'etc etc', which makes up some nice droning ambient music. More by him this week.

Bxg Cxty Orchxstrx - So Much Quicker Than Tomorrow (tape, Ecto Tapes, 19??)

Recently I got an e-mail from someone saying he was moving to another country, and wether I'd be interested in receiving a small box of tapes. Well, of course. Some of them seemed to be a demo of sort, but I transferred eigth of them, which I will post as of today until they run out. The reason to post this Big City Orchestra today is to state they are playing in Amsterdam tomorrow at Overtoom 301 as part of a benefit for DFM radio, with special guest The Silverman (The Legendary Pink Dots). I am not sure I indexed it all like its supposed to be, but I'll ask Das whenever I see him on his tour (they are also playing London, Tilburg, Hamburg, and probably a few other places).

Another - 81 (tape, 1981)

donated by Pascal 'titi' Tabarnac

This tape was released by Charlye, the singer of Suspect, and I Suspect it was released in 1981, a year after he got kicked out of that band - check somewhere else on this blog for that story. If he -Charlye- has a better copy then this, please post it and we could change the link. This tape has no information on it whatsoever. Side 'a' says 'living room' and side b says 'live'. The living room recordings are quite ok. I gave the 'a' side songs titles but that's just guessing. The 'b' side is just one big file with the whole live gig. On my tape there's is one drop out spot which means that on both sides there's a song missing. But as it is a CHF 60, there's plenty enough to enjoy. I guess i bought this tape at Backstreet Records in Rotterdam in those days, maybe one of the few shops in the world that sold it. As far as i remember there's also a 7" from Another (posted before here - 433) and not much more...

Unzipp Me (tape, Interrupt Prod, 1989)

Behind Unzipp Me is Albert van der Veen, who ran the Peuleschille Tapes label out of the small village Dieren, near Arnhem (The Netherlands). This tape was however released by Interrupt, of which we previously posted three compilation tapes. Pretty noise based music, but nice enough.

Project Ricorso (tape, Finger In The Dike, 1985)

Another quite obscure release by Finger In The Dike is this multi-media band, which included Dedo (H. Heyink on violin/video), R.J. Packe (Grand Piano, violin, editing), R. Schouten (drums, horns, violin), R. Sluik (horns, guitar, organ, cover, piano-drums, video). This tape has various live recordings made at Edelweiss in Amsterdam, Concordia (Enschede), Rozengracht studio (Amsterdam), Gaudeamus (Amsterdam) and Brighton (UK). The visual part of course lacks here, but the music is largely improvised but still sounds great.

Fools Extra - Pretend To Be Normal (tape, Fools Extra fxk 006, 198?)

LinkVery low on the information side. The cover just says 'Pretend To be Normal' and the catalogue number. De Nederlandse Cassette Catalogus lists Fools Extra as the band. I think this was a collective of bands/musicians from Zeeuws-Vlaanderen, in the south -west part of The Netherlands. Punk like, but then much more improvised on this tape. Soon, I'll have another tape which is more punk like.

Brain Ink - One (tape, Brains For Breakfast, 1989)

Some time ago I posted a cassette by Cancel from Zwolle, The Netherlands. On the same label, and with the same people is Brain Ink. One Henk does the music and one Charly the vocals. More electronic than Cancel and therefore something I liked more, but I heard better. Nevertheless you should definetly try this.

Little Seed - Risen (tape, Lor Teeps 5, 19??)

Chemical Disasters (tape, Industrial Platform Products, 198?)

This one is also from the world of Bart Hanselaar, who ran the Industrial Platform Products label. No doubt he is behind both bands on this tape too. I never heard of Optical Rotary Dispersion Profiles or Plastic Soldiers Marching. Industrial music along the lines of M.B. Short tape of just fifteen minutes.

Mr. Devo - Behind The Headlines (tape, A Peek A Boo Products, 1992)

I got a bunch of tapes from someone who used to review independent tapes for a Dutch magazine (not Vinyl), and many are plain demo type of stuff, which we won't post, but also some interesting stuff. Mr. Devo released at least five tapes, which we all post, but four of them under the name of Mr. Dam, meaning Mr. Devo's Active Men, but for reason no longer clear this is as Mr. Devo. Electronic music with lots of rhythms and primitive sampling. Quite nice, despite the ugly presentation.
