Owen Sound is a sound-poetry ensemble founded in 1975. Originally a quartet (David Penhale left the group in 1978), they now perform as a trio which includes Micheal Dean, Steven Smith and Richard Truhlar. Their work has been characterized as an interplay between conceptuality, abstract sound, word-play, mime and theatricality. Their previous recordings include: an extended play record Meaford Tank Range published by Wild Press, a cassette Beyond The Range published by Underwhich Editions; and the anthologized 1'54"… published in the Sound Poetry issue of the Capilano Review, #31.From Eu Records
