I posted their 4 track cassette on LeBel Period before. Tecnoville was a four piece group with two ex members of Tox Modell (who were also Det Wiehl) and two ex members of Workmates. This is the only record they ever made (the flexi disc from Vinyl has a track from the cassette) and was produced, quite nice actually, by Harold Schellinx of The Young Lines. Great post-punk/new wave. Six songs on the then so beloved format of a mini LP.

Thanks for this one. I was told that they also have 2 songs on the first "Grote Prijs van Nederland"-compilation album in 1983. Don't know if these are songs from the demo or the mini album or songs unique to the GPN album...
ReplyDeleteLOL!
ReplyDeleteI cannot find any track listing on the net but will keep looking...
So Piu Piu, Tröckener Kecks and Sammie America's MAM are crap bands? ;) Okay, first prize winner Neel was...
ReplyDeleteThe two songs on "The Grote Prijs van Nederland" album are live versions of "Dressed up" and "Ego life".
i meant neel indeed, but forgot who won that year. in general i don't like any contest in art - it's not what art is for. if you have that record, send me a mp3 of it and we can all decide. i don't remember piu piu, but i readily admit the others you mention are fine bands.
ReplyDelete433rpm
You're right ofcourse, the "Grote Prijs" is just a marketing tool and generally has nothing to do with the quality of the music. I will try to rip the vinyl later this week. Last times I tried there was an annoying hum. So let's hope the technique will work with us this time and we can all have a vote :)
ReplyDeletePiu Piu was a rather good wave band from Breda. The sixth finalist was De Koffieband. Well, the name says it all...
great!
