Jim O'Rourke - Remove The Need (tape, Complacency, 1989)

I was reading the recent Monk Mink Pink Punk this week, in which you can find an interview with Jim O'Rourke, so it's good I thought to post the second tape by Jim, going our way back into history. I see on Jim's Discography that there is apparentely also a tape called Secure on the Loose Rim on Sound of Pig, but I don't believe that. So today 'Remove The Need', which should not be confused with the CD of the same name on Extreme. From the cover: 'solo prepared guitar using only reverb; no overdub or electronic processing used, except on the first and last cuts of both sides with Dan Burke.

P. Children - P.CH2 (7", SSS 20, 1988), P.CH4 (10", SSS 38, 1991)

In the late 80s more and more so called industrial bands took notice of the musique concrete heritage and started composing music along similar lines, think Illusion Of Safety or THU20, but P. Children were along the same line, even when lesser known. P. Children were Harold Walls, Mike Parker, Robert Kirzinger and it could stand for Pendereweski's Children. I only have their 7", 10" and the CD - the latter which I won't post of course, since I don't do CDs. I don't have their cassette (P.CH1) or LP (P.CH3), which I would be curious to hear. Their covers were always transparant with silk screen. On the 10" its hard to, well improssible to find out what's the a-side and b-side. I have no idea why the stopped or what the band members do these days.

S.B.O.T.H.I. - Brakes 'N' Mistakes (tape, no label, 1985)

This tape was a very limited release by Achim Wollscheid when he was still called SBOTHI. I think it was used as a sort of collection of material to be use, by himself or by others. I think Kapotte Muziek used some of this on the 'Utilities' LP. Lots of small cut-up sounds.

Therapie Compilatie 2 (tape, Therapie Organisatie teip A02, 1988?)

I wanted to post Journey Into Pain, but unfortunately (goodbye lots of work) someone beat me to it here although I was going to post the original Japanese version. So today another compilation, from Therapie Organisatie, from Belgium, which was the label of one Peter Desmet, who played music as A Violated Body and Zweiter Korps. None of this existed for very long, but I have various of his releases, which I will post. This compilation, mostly industrial music, contains Neurotic Youth, Tecdor Mental, Cafas Oscuras, The Grey Wolves, Zombies Under Stress, Vidna Obmana, Death Pact International, Albert Paris and A Violated Body.

Statue Series (four tapes, Seiten Sprung Aufnahmen, 1989)

Ok, so I didn't gave up, since others didn't gave up re-loading. 3 people now working seriously in getting everything back up, which is celebrated today by Sastre winning the Tour de France and you can download this 4 cassette set on the Dutch label Seiten Sprung Aufnahmen, the label of one Bart Hanselaar. Each cassette has sicty minutes by Recycled Body Programm (Hanselaar's own music), Vidna Obmana and Merzbow's S.C.U.M. project. The fourth tape has an additional twenty minutes by each artist. Maybe it seems an odd pairing but it makes actually quite a nice compilation.

Illusion Of Safety - In 70 Countries (tape, Complacency cpc 14, 1989)

I gave up on re-loading old posts - it's too time consuming and I need to do other work. Also I lost some, if anyone wants to get a small list of posts I miss, please e-mail me (433rpm@gmail.com). Any requests for re-ups will be fullfilled. Any help is greatly appreciated to. About 65% is re-up now. I think. I didn't count.

John Hudak - Wind, Rain & Clouds To Human Beings (tape, Sound Of Pig sop 236, 1989)

"Born 3 28 58 Framingham Massachusetts USA. John Hudak has been interested in sound and music from the age of four when he began to play a variety of instruments. At the University of Delaware (BA, English 1981) and Naropa Institute for the Arts (1979), he studied video, photography, creative writing and dance. He then began to create taped soundtracks for his solo performance art pieces. In recent years, he has concentrated on sound, particularly natural sounds. Hudak's current sound work focuses on the minimalism and repetition of sounds below the usual threshold of hearing, sounds that are filtered out or considered non-musical. These sounds are recorded, deconstructed and processed, their rhythms and textures being the basis for aural manipulations."

Of this tape, the version I have is a private edition by Hudak himself. At least I think so.

I am busy re-uploading all the missing Massmirror links, which is a lot of work. Only one person offered me one (!) link to help me out. Thanks for that. Maybe I should just stop re-uploading and also sit back. Listen folks, I could do with some help.
