Psychomania (tape, PM Tapes 01, 1984)
A duo of Peter Fleur (MS20, SQ10, guitar, treatments, production) and Marijke Oldenkamp (flute, clarinet, voices, guitar, percussion, fotopaintings). This was their only tape, a favorite in the distribution of Broken Flag. Fleur later on was a member/founder of LOSD. Tape came in a handpainted box.

Chris Lindquist - D.A.P.A. (tape, Geluidshouwerij 006, 1984)
I believe Chris Lindquist as the man behind this label from Rotterdam and this tape has some nice electronic funky music on it. I know nothing about it.

Insecticide (tape, 1983)
A self-released tape by one Rene Paes who uses voices, syn drum, rhythmbox, acoustic and electric guitar, radio, crackle-box, mandoline, toy organs and casio. Quite nice minimal electronic music.
I'm pretty sure this one refers to the same artist, but it doesn't link to the right artist on discogs

Enema Digest - Baby Guts (tape, Exart Tapes, 014, 1984)
Connected, no doubt to Brobat Enema, is Enema Digest. Similar kind of music, although perhaps covers of some kind. All live.

Brobat Enema - Lady In Red (tape, Exart Cassettes, 1984)
Also on Exart, this tape by Brobat Enema, which isn't even listed on Discogs. On this site, by Y Create, the solo project of Hessel Veldman, we learn next to nothing. One side live, one side studio recordings of synth and rhythmbox music. Quite nice, and really forgotten!

Paul Daniels – Famous World Tour (tape, Exart Cassettes EA018, 1983)
I have no idea who Paul Daniels is, nor does discogs by the look of it. Quite an interesting tape of industrial noise based music, but also with some quieter moments.
from Hessel Veldman, owner of Exart Tapes:
About Paul Daniels. He was a famous magician in the UK. TV personality. But this tape is recorded live in Durham by three hardcore industrial musicians from London. They set up a gig and announced it as Paul Daniels World Tour. So, many older sophisticated people came to the show. Confused and a legendary concert. Same thing happened like the Donna Summer breakcore guy (early millennium).
Paul Daniels tape is the same guys as Brobat Enema and Enema Digest (tapes). We also did a Dutch tour with Paul Daniels and Gorgonzola Legs in 1984/85.

Grrrmmmpff - Doch Plotseling (tape, Danger Tapes 004, 198?)
Very obscure tape and label, from Utrecht, The Netherlands, both not on discogs. Quite interesting sort of new wavey music, with funk elements.

Second Auschwitz - No Applause!! (tape, WW Tapes 02, 1984)
Live recording in front of an audience of 8 according to the cover. Great more lo-fi punk. Read also my comment, quite important, I'd say

Slashing In Your Slumber (tape, De Geluidshouwerij 004, 198?)
This label can't be found on discogs, only as an artist. It was a label from Rotterdam and this particular obscurity has some strangely improvised music using guitar and female voice.

Mission Papua Holland - Le Chevre d'Or (tape, 1984)
Mission Papua Holland is best known for their two LPs, 'Love You Baby' and 'June 87'. The band, from 's-Hertogenbosch The Netherlands, had a floating membership. Main member Mark van Gelder doesn't play on this cassette, Jasper Frenken does. Also other musicians are mentioned: Andre de Vries, Dirk van Veldhoven, Rene, Otto, Ed Kooiman. Recorded with simple equipment on several locations. Here its electronic music with a bit of rock instruments. More tapes them will follow.

Perhaps more a demo of sorts of this band which I think is the same who did this LP on Top Hole mentioned on discogs. Otherwise I couldn't find any info on them.

Hessel Veldman & Kees van Ede - Portable Vaudeville (tape, Exart 010, 1983)
Veldman is a member of Gorgonzola Legs and owner of Exart Cassettes. I know nothing about Kees van Ede. This was recorded at the well-known Holland Festival 1983 and is quite synth based experimental music.

Rainr Henzl - Die Kunst Des Handewaschens (tape, Pion 04, 1985)
His real name is Rainer Hensel and still an well-known composer of film scores. Check his website.
He did most music for the films by the sadly murdered director Theo van Gogh. Two early film soundtracks are on this cassette, 'Luger' and 'Een Dagje Naar Het Strand'. The third film score is from a movie 'Man In De War' by Joost Ranzijn.

Second Auschwitz - Your Pet Cassette (tape, WW Tapes 01, 198?)
A short cassette, only just under 12 minutes of this 'punk' band from Helmond. But it has 41 lo-fi improvised free punk songs. This band had among its members Jan van den Einden, who also was a writer. I have no idea where he is now. I have more tapes by them to post soon.

Gorgonzola Legs - Fishwarehouse (tape, Exart 020, 1984)
You can find various releases by the Exart label online, but it seems they all more or less originate from my blog, which is fine. I recently got some more, and start with this one, by Gorgonzola Legs. A quartet of
-Jos Van Duijne: Guitars
-Herman Te Loo: Soprano & Alto Saxophone, Clarinet, Reed, Piano, Pipe, Vocals.
-Gert Jan Prins: Drums, Percussion, Sampling, Keyboards.
-Hessel Veldman: Guitar, Bass Guitar, Piano, Synthesizers, tapes
Largely improvised music in a rock context. Gert-Jan Prins is these days a well-known noise musician. Gorgonzola Legs was one of the first bands to release an independent CD release in The Netherlands

Das Ding / J. De K. – Tear Apart Tapes N.01 (Cassette, 1982)

Planung (tape, 198?)
I borrowed a small box of tapes, all from The Netherlands, and it has some interesting things, which, obviously, I will post in the next few weeks. Best find, at least that's what I think, is this tape by Planung from Enschede. They had a flexidisc with Vinyl 6 and I posted a tape with two short pieces by two members of this band. But beyond the flexi I never heard any of their music, which was a pity, since I quite enjoyed their rock like improvised music with A Certain Ratio influences, especially in the way they treat their guitars. Perfect Ultra music!
Not on discogs. Frans de Waard's cassette catalogus lists two tapes on Terminal Tapes, 005 'Live' and 009 'Distant Touch', but this tape cover doesn't list a title.

This tape is not listed on Discogs but the band is: Dutch band active from 1984 to 1987.
Members:
Frank Van Den Elzen, Martin Van Nielen, Michel Koot, Moniek, Roeland van Niele
From Nijmegen actually. Garage rock of the more dirty fuzzy kind.

R. Vergeer – Bikkelhard Fluweel (tape, File Bij Vianen FBV 004, 19??)
The only other tape I hadn't posted yet from this label, so all four are now this blog. No doubt the man behind the label. No info at all. Nice electronics, but really ambient.
Friday, March 2, 2012
Paul van Eijk, René Vergeer, Jan Kasteelen – Neroux (cassette, File Bij Vianen FBV 003, 19??)
According to the cover this was already recorded in early 1978, but I don't think it was released until 1982 or 83. No date on the cover. Quite interesting electronic, experimental music.

Groep II – Lesuren 1 (cassette, Kubus Kassettes KKLU 001, 1982)
A new wave of Ultra, The Netherlands own no wave/post punk flashes through the Netherlands, so whatever we started in 2007 finally has paid off in some events next week (Nijmegen, Eindhoven, Rotterdam, Amsterdam, info here), a book on Ultra by former young lion Harold Schellinx and even an one-off 2012 issue of Vinyl magazine. I re-upped all of those old magazines here again, after the recent megaclashunload. Now, I paid my duties by posting many of the early 80s tapes I had in recent years, but through sheer coincidence I got some more and I will post them in the next days. Not necessarily very Ultra, but very Dutch. The first one is this tape which I even never heard of, one recorded at the various workshops Kubus did on modern, electronic music. Hayo den Boeft later started The Love Choir and his own label Decay Int. Martijn Sandberg released a tape on his label. All posted of course.
