Reportaz - Muzika (tape, ADN Tapes 25, 1987)

I borrowed a bunch of cassettes from yet another friend, whose interest is more in the field of prog rock and improvised music. Today the first of two posts, since I missed yesterday, plus one of the two magazines I got from him for Notes From Underground. Reportaz is a four piece band, according to discogs: Piotr Lakomy (bass, bells), Pawel Paluch (Bassoon, Flue, Xylophone), Andrzej Karpinski (drums, vocals), Arek Dabrowski (piano, organ).

Well-know post Henry Cow band with: Bill Gilonis (guitar, bass, singing) Mick Hobbs (bass, guitar, drums, ukelele, singing), Rick Wilson (drums, singing, bass), Tim Hodgkinson (singing, saxophone, keyboards, hawaiian guitar). This tape might sound like a bootleg, but it looks like an office release of a concert in Zurich, Switzerland, 24.8.1981.

Kurt Schwitters - Anna Blume (tape, Komista, 19??)

I know there is an ongoing discussion wether there exists a recording of Kurt Schwitters reciting his famous Dada poem 'Anna Blume', and I am not sure if this is it. I borrowed this tape, along with pretty much everything else I'm posting this month from a good friend, so I'd thought I'd better share this as well.

Geins't Nait - Gets (tape, Permis de Construire PER 008, 1988)

From discogs: real names areVincent Hachet, Thierry Merigout. Geins't Nait is more than a simple industrial sonic band. Although definitely in the experimental/noisy class, the music harmlessly flirts with rock, jazz, and pop. Each individual pieces tend to be studies in rhythmic patterns, yielding terrific polyphonic and polyrhythmic textures, and harsh, grating, percussive, yet full, supple, rich, even polished timbres. This is medium to high intensity European music which doesn't resort to dance-music concessions.

The Dadarotator - What Is Dadarotator (tape, Produktion, 1983)

Kurt Schwitters is quoted on the cover: 'the dadarotator is a perculiar combination of rotators, axes and pistons, built with cadavers, nitric acid, and Mertz in such a way that you enter it with complete understanding and emerge from it with none. You'll be a rotarydada and you'll pray to the machine like someone inspired - amen'. Find out how that sounds!
